Bridgeton High School is a comprehensive community public high school that serves students in grades 9-12 from the city of Bridgeton, in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Bridgeton Public Schools, an Abbott District.[2] The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1931.[3]

Students from Downe Township and Lawrence Township attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship.[4]

As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,149 students and 117 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.82.[1]

The school was the 303rd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 322 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2010 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools", after being ranked 297th in 2008 out of 316 schools.[5] The school was ranked 283rd in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.[6]

Athletics

The Bridgeton High School Bulldogs compete in the National Division of the Cape-Atlantic League, an athletic conference consisting of both parochial and public high schools located in Atlantic County, Cape May County, Cumberland County, and Gloucester County, operating under the supervision of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.[7]

The boys’ and girls’ track teams were the CAL champions for the 2005-06 season. The boys track team was the NJSIAA Division II state champions.[4]
